Gourmet Traveller WINE ‘Wine List of the Year’

By | News

The 2018 Gourmet Traveller WINE ‘Wine List of the Year’ awards have been run and won and we are delighted to report that we have once again be awarded two glasses.  This follows on for being awarded Readers Choice in 2017 and two glasses in 2016.

What the judges said – “Part bar, part bistro with a drinks list to satisfy both. A seriously neat gin selection entices so too the gems offered by the glass. It’s a savvy, small list that injects personality and interest via headings such as For Lovers of Texture or A little Something Different. And it delivers.”

Come and try our always evolving wines by the glass paired with our fresh seasonal menu prepared daily by our talented Chefs.

11 OF THE BEST: SYDNEY’S WINE BARS – Sitchu

By | News

Great to receive some great recognition in Sitchu and in very good company indeed!!

11 OF THE BEST: SYDNEY’S WINE BARS

If your go-to order is a NZ Sav Blanc or a quick Pinot Noir every time you approach the bar, then this list is for you. While we hold nothing against these delicious grapes, with so many venues across Sydney making it their business to bring you the best blends from every corner of the earth, it’s only right to step out of your comfort zone and give that Grenache a go.

Annata

Annata is one of Sydney’s best kept secrets north of the bridge. With an extensive list of ‘not quite whites’ and ‘not quite reds’ from various corners of the world, it is near-impossible to decide where to start. Equally impressive is their food offering. Think crispy onion petals, coffee braised lamb and burrata with hazelnut crumble and radicchio.

Come and see what all the fuss is about! 69 Willoughby Road, Crows Nest

Annata has been honoured at the 2017 Wine List of the Year Awards by taking out the ‘Gourmet Traveller WINE Readers Choice’. Christian Blair accepted the award at the afternoon awards ceremony held at Glass Brasserie in Sydney on 31 July in front a capacity crowd of some of the country’s foremost Sommeliers and Restaurateurs. Winning the Readers Choice Award confirmed that the wine list that is on offer at Annata resonates with guests and really provides an enticing and exciting experience.

The award follows on from the ‘2 Glass Award’ received at the Wine List of the Year Awards last year.
