It has a medium body and bright acidity and is considered a worldwide reference for Provence rosé.
Wine Making
The winemaker is Sacha Lichine. Lichine is the founder of Château d'Esclans, a renowned wine estate in Provence, France. He acquired the vineyard in 2006 with the goal of creating a premium rosé that would elevate Provençal rosé worldwide. In 2019, LVMH purchased a 55% stake in Château d'Esclans, forming a strategic alliance with Lichine. Lichine retains a 45% stake in his company and works closely with Moët Hennessy to further develop his range of luxury rosés. Grapes are harvested at night to avoid the heat of the day and to keep the crop fresh. Once the grapes arrive at the cellars, they are sorted for quality and health using Optical Eye Sorting.
The Vineyards
The grapes used to make Whispering Angel are sourced from the vineyards surrounding Château d'Esclans' La Motte home.
