Tasting Notes

Ruinart Brut sparkles in chestnut, yellow and golden colours. The nose is bright and lively with a bouquet of fresh fruits like pear, apple, and apricot, complemented by floral notes of white blossoms and hints of almond and hazelnut from its extended lees aging. The palate is fresh and vivacious with a balance of rich, ripe fruits and crisp acidity. Subtle minerality and notes of citrus, brioche, and toasty almond give the wine depth. The finish is clean and long, leaving behind lingering flavours of fruit and toast.

Wine Making

Appointed in 2007, the  Cellar Master (Chef de Caves) and creative force behind Ruinart's Champagnes is Frédéric Panaïotis. Frédéric  is highly regarded for his meticulous blending techniques and ability to showcase the elegance of Chardonnay alongside the richness of Pinot Noir, creating consistent and highly respected Champagnes across the range. Ruinart Brut is aged for a minimum of 3 years on lees  which enhances the complexity and texture of the wine. This aging process develops a creamy, smooth mouthfeel with toasty brioche notes. Grapes are harvested by hand from a blend of 40–50 crus including 20–30% reserve wine kept from a range of vintages. Alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Dosage is 7 g/L.

The Vineyards

As the first established Champagne house (founded in 1729), Ruinart is an iconic House of Champagne best known for its emphasis on Chardonnay. The House sources its grapes primarily from Premier Cru vineyards, particularly focusing on Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. Montagne de Reims provides Pinot Noir, known for its richness and intensity due to the chalky and clay-limestone soils. Vallée de la Marne supplies the Pinot Meunier.
