Annata has hundreds of Australian and International fine wines on our highly awarded Wine List. Many of our delicious wines are available by the glass, making it easier to select different matching wines with each of your menu choices. This month’s premium wines are listed below.

Featured Wines & Tasting Notes

  • The premium Yarra Valley chardonnay is made from small select parcels of fruit from certain rows of Helen’s Hill Estate’s single vineyard site. The grapes are handpicked before fermentation in select French oak barrels. The nose has white peach and nectarine fruit characters with hints of butterscotch and fine oak. The finish is decadently creamy with a luscious mouth feel. This is one of Australia’s best chardonnays. Enjoy!

  • This fabulous Burgundy combines hints of toastiness and ripe fruits, offering both openness and a spicy texture. It is full-bodied, with balanced acidity and flavours of rich apple and pear. The Domain Louis Chen estate is a family-owned winery in Savigny-les-Beaune which has been cultivating the vines for five generations. It is now operated by Caroline and Juliet Chenu. When Juliette was at Annata in May, she told us this is one of her favourite wines.

  • This fabulous Burgundy is from Marsannay; the most northern appellation of the Côte de Nuits sub-region. The nose presents aromas of red fruit jam (strawberries, raspberries), and a light vanilla note. This is a meaty, firm Marsannay with a core palate of cherry fruits with minerals and tannins on the finish. The winemaker has blended grapes from 40-year-old vines sourced from different terroirs. The mouth is structured and persistent, with sustained fruity aromas. Absolute Burgundian elegance!

  • The colour is an intense ruby red with violet reflections. It has a pronounced aroma of ripe red fruits, humus, leather, and tobacco. The palate is rich, fresh, and intense, with velvety tannins and good persistence. Appropriately named after the great scientist who brought great prestige to his homeland Sicily, this stunning wine is biodynamically grown, without the use of herbicides, chemicals, or synthetic treatments. The vinification is done with indigenous yeasts using whole berries in steel tanks before maturing in the barrel for at least thirty months, followed by aging in bottle for at least one year. Total production is only 3,000 bottles! This very special wine is a must for serious wine lovers.
