Tasting Notes

The 2017 vintage is another one of Enrico’s finest. It is rich and structured with good acidity and defined tannin. It is long and elegant. After five years of barrel aging Barolo can be considered a "Riserva". Enrico selects his Barolo Riserva exclusively from a select few barrels of the vintage that show a greater aging potential. The extra years of ageing guarantee greater smoothness of the tannins and it has intensified the aromatics of leather, red fruit, balsamic and orange oil. Tremendously complex and very deep and satisfying.

The Winemaker

The winemaker is Enrico Rivetto.

”I am a farmer, a basketball fan and a free spirit. I work and live in Lirano, a biodynamic garden in the Langa of Barolo, between the hills of Sinio and Serralunga d’Alba. I grow vines, fruit trees, herbs and cereals. I believe that wine is magical because it allows me to be heard. And I can tell people about a new way of looking at the land and how it’s worked. About The Winery

Azienda Agricola Rivetto is a 4th generation winemaking family from the eastern hills of Serralunga d’Alba. They began producing wine in 1902 and started making their production at their Sinio farmhouse in 1938. Today the organically farmed vineyard holdings include 37 acres in Sinio and Serralunga. The original farmhouse remains the winemaking facility.

Lirano is a magnetic hill, a place crossed by contrasting natural forces, yet it remains balanced. A middle ground between Alta Langa and the Barolo hills, a ridge between Sinio and Serralunga d’Alba, among woods and vineyards, amidst the Alps and the Ligurian Sea.
