“Merlot, cabernet sauvignon, shiraz.  Deep, dark red colour with a good purple rim, and it smells invitingly of blackcurrant, blackberry, raspberry and fresh herbs. The acidity runs a tangy thread through the length of the palate and the wine has tremendous density, fleshy texture and high extract. Ample tannins, which are smooth and fleshy, supple and in perfect harmony. An outstanding wine which is set to age and improve over many years.” *

The Vineyards

The vineyards are located at Koomooloo in the NSW Central Tablelands near Orange.  Orange is different from other wine regions because of its elevation ranging from 600m, with the highest vineyards sitting at 1,100m on the slopes of the Great Dividing Range and Mt Canobolas, an extinct volcano. Orange is Australia’s highest vineyard area, providing a climate that’s typified by summers with warm days, cool nights, and cold winters. The mean January Temperature (MJT)is a relatively cool 21.9 degrees, making it a great place to grow grapes.
